Historical Unused Local Authority Monthly Gym Membership Reclaim

Hi

Does anybody know if you are entitled to claim back monthly gym charges if a Gym induction never took place and the Gym was never actually used, this is regarding a local authority Gym, joined with good intention but never actually attended due to working long hours. Never missed a monthly payment.

Why should you be entitled to anything?

The gym was available to be used and an induction no doubt wouldn't have been refused so it's your choice to spend that money without using the facilities.

Make sure you follow their cancellation process or you will continue paying for the service.

I am afraid you are probably out of luck. Note that you may also have to give 30+ days notice as part of your cancellation.

You paid but didn't go, that's exactly the same as buying tickets for an entertainment venue and not going.

You have no right to a refund of historic subscription fees.

If you haven't done so already, you should cancel your subscription. Unlike private gyms there is no long lock-in with Council-run facilities..
