Heart bypass - need life assurance advice

Options
A few years ago I had a heart bypass at a young age (for this type of surgery if nothing else) and now need a new life assurance policy. I returned to work full time and am usually well.

Does anyone have advice on where I should go for a policy or anything i should specifically include or avoid. I am female, mid 40's.

Most insurers will want to see at least 5 years clear of operation and on minimal medication. Even then they are still likely to massively increase premiums making the cost prohibitive.

The only way to know for sure how you will be treated is for you to give an IFA your medical details and ask them to check with the underwriters directly. This doesnt count as a refused application and doesnt need to be declared on any future applications.
