  • Wasn't going to travel 14 hours to view and another 14 hours to collect, he's now saying his solicitor is in the case cause I've broken the "contact" and is taking it to court for the remaining balance 😂 What a clown .

  • No I am not expecting any of my fuel or any other expenses returned all I asked for is my deposit back as the car wasn't as described and now he wants to take me to court for not paying for the car.

    He's got as much chance of that claim succeeding as you have of getting your deposit back. You say he agreed to it, but that's your word against his.

    The 14hr round trip and £250 is your problem, not his, and completely irrelevant to anything. You decided to buy a vehicle, sight-unseen, from a long distance away.

    So take him to court for £100, I'm sure he'll easily evidence he spent that on new adverts when you broke the verbal contract to buy the car.

    Sounds to me like you have a good case op. Shame you didn't take photos of the bodywork was as bad as you say.

    I'd suggest seeking advise from another forum though as people around here would argue the grass isn't green if a new poster came along and declared it to be
