How can I tell if I had tanking done in a property

I have a new tenant in the only house I rent out my father sold me.
House is in a area I'm not familiar with.
The tanked advises, as he's in the building trade, that he feels the downstairs has not been tanking. He says no tanking has been done.
Anyway my issue.
SO, is there a way to tell if tanking was done on the ground floor of the property or not?
Thank you,

Why does the tenant insist that it needs tanking is there a damp problem? or is he trying to sell you his services.0

I never said nor suggested the tenant insisted anything but thank you for responding.
Can anyone advise how I can tell if a property has had tanking?
Thank you0 -
Your op doesnt make sense, tanking can be like black bitumen or tanking i used for a wet room was blue and set like rubber and you can also have a membrane with it, not always tho.0

Not sure what op is but I'll still wait for an answer or some kind of suggestion to my query.

Original post, and I believe I did answer0

OP is original post, as above.
There's no hard and fast way to know how a wall has been treated behind the plastered finish. You'd know it hadn't been tanked, or tanked properly if it had wet walls! Dry walls doesn't mean it is or hasn't.
Your post doesn't make sense though. What is the purpose of the question? Why should it need to be tanked? It should only be required below ground, not at ground floor level.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

So the question still remains why does the tenant think or should or needs tanking ?
Tenant don't ask these sort of questions without a reason ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
