UKPC debt recovery threat

Parked at local shopping centre, paid £1 for 2 hrs, arrived back to car within time but parking ticket on screen as the ticket we paid for had turned over and you couldnt see the other side.
Saw attendant who said dont worry just go to UKPC website and send pic of paid ticket and all will be ok. UKPC replied with unfortunately we're still going to charge you but for goodwill £15!!
Surely this is them admitting that we paid and the penalty should be removed! We tried POPLA who amazingly agreed with UKPC. We are now receiving Debt recovery letters from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd.
Any advice on how to stop these debt recovery letters from coming.
Many thanks!

It's a shame you contacted this bunch of scammers and probably gave away the driver's details.
Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES which explains how this should be done if it happens to you again.
It also explains why it is safe to ignore debt collectors, but not real court papers.
What happened when you complained to the landowner?
Did you keep the parking ticket like you would for any other receipt for goods or services?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

Not amazing at all if you used that same weak appeal.
"Any advice on how to stop these debt recovery letters from coming"
You can pay them that would stop it, but no one on here will advise that as they can't do anything other than send silly letters anyway.

Thanks Fruitcake
I'm sorry but I'm a beginner with this, could you possibly give me the weblink for the
'Sticky thread for NEWBIES'? Thanks!
I haven't yet complained to the landowners, this is something I'm looking to do tomorrow.
I have all the paperwork including the original purchased ticket, why do you ask?0 -
third thread down from the top of this forum , above your thread
the parking ticket and any other paper evidence is good if the PPC try a claim in the small claims court (MCOL) they have 6 years to do this
you can IGNORE drp, they are powerless
a landowner cancellation is your best option now0 -
Thanks Redx
I have had a quick look at coupon-mad and crabman thread but note these are from 2014 and concerned with the recent court ruling Beavis v Parking Eye could affect this now?
I wondered if anyone had experienced my particular issue, ie the ticket purchased but not displayed correctly?
Thanks0 -
coupon-mad updates that thread regularly and if you check the bottom of the posts they have been edited in 2016 , she keeps them up to date, so there is no question that they are up to date in her thread even if the post was first posted ten years ago
loads of people on here and pepipoo have had similar issues , hundreds if not thousands of people
it features daily on these forums, so is nothing new0 -

The NEWBIES thread was last updated in May of this year. It is reviewed regularly and amended whenever necessary. This includes last years Beavis result.
There are thousands of cases where the ticket has blown off the dash, curled up, turned over, or faded. I believe this is a deliberate design flaw. Previously they were sticky so could be attached to the windscreen. Now they are not fit for purpose. If they stayed right way up the parking scumpanies wouldn't make as much money.I married my cousin. Thanks all! I will read the threads in more detail and hopefully
may get some luck from the shopping centre manager!0 -

The shopping centre manager is your last hope of getting rid of this (or a judge finding in your favour if it went to court), otherwise you need to prepare yourself for the 'long run'.
Don't approach the manager with a 'hope for some luck', you will need to be more assertive than that.
Do you have receipts or bank/cc statements proving you were a customer on the day? Do you have previous ones to show you are a regular customer there? Do you have loyalty cards for any of the stores there? Gather all those together and take them with you.
Have a read of this before you put any complaint plan into action:
