Don't use Saddle soap! Although saddles are made of leather they are completely different in texture and condition to a sofa and saddle soap is designed specifically to keep leather being used outside hard wearing durable and waterproof but not to keep it looking soft and attractive looking.
The science as to why not is explained here http://advleather.blogspot.co.uk/2009/06/why-not-use-saddle-soap-on-my-leather.html?m=1
Try some specialist leather furniture care products or ask DFS to advise so that you don't end up completely voiding your insurance. Mopping up sick with an inappropriate cloth may well be covered but I suspect if you make things worse by using the wrong products on it, it won't be.
Hope you get it sorted.0 -
the best leather cleaner and conditioner I have ever used is Gliptone - it smells absolutely lovely too. I must get some more soon.

Ha, I did worse- sprayed the floor with bleach spray, it went over the sofa and bleached the leather. DFS were great actually- I had accidental damage included in the insurance and they came and re-dyed it. good luck0

Sounds like it just needs feeding. You stripped some of the moisture out of it. Go to home bargains they sell leather feed (in cleaning products). Just needs some moisture back in it.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140
