Suppliers wanting payment in advance.

Hi,

Does anyone know which suppliers take direct debits in advance? Looking to switch, but I do know some of the cheaper suppliers take money on the day of switchover, so would like to avoid.

I don't think comparison sites mention this next to supplier names or tariff details, so am a bit unsure.

Cheers

As a general rule outside of the Big Six, most smaller suppliers will require a month's payment in advance.

There's no major issue with this, it's one of the reasons why they are cheaper. If you really want to avoid this I fear your options may be limited as to who you can go to.

Some do. Check out the MSE Cheap Energy Club or energyhelpline for example.
You may need to look into the tariff detail, but EHL at least shows it on the comparison list.e.g. Monthly in Advance DD

What is the problem with this? Have you quantified what the financial impact is? Basically, it's very small.

The potential cost from limiting your choice is far higher.

How much is your monthly direct debit?
