Athena parking fine help!

Hi Guys,
Apologies for creating another thread about Athena, but i wondered if i could get some advice.
I recently received a notice from Athena with the usual £45 charge if paid within 14 days.
It was totally my fault as i didn't even go into LIDL as planned as i was running late so i never gave them my REG number. This is a new practice in this car park, previously parking was allowed by anyone for 60 mins and under without ticket validation and i never even realised the signs had changed.
The ticket i got was for a Monday, and i done exactly the same thing the next day! Should i expect to receive another ticket or has it been too long now? (About 10 days, i have been away and didn't open my mail until Yesterday!)
So, should i send in an appeal or do i have no chance as it was actually my fault. The amount just seems ridiculous for being in a car park for 20 mins when the allowed time is 10 with no ticket validation - This was on the letter they sent me.
Thank you in advance

It is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice.
Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not miss the appeal deadline.
What happened on the day won't work so don't bother with mitigation.
Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the IPC template letter you will find there.
Copy and paste, do not edit.

Are you a regular Lidl customer? If so contact Lidl Customer Service with details and see what they say.
They are more forgiving than Athena as they want to keep your custom and can tell Athena to back off. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
