Wednesday 10th August - what small Debt Free Wannabe things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all :coffee:
Thanks for the start LaE - and what a good idea about a magazine subscription for a present. Both of my parents are really difficult to buy for so I'll remember that.
I have a friend coming to visit today so we'll be out and about and spending no doubt. Good job I got a nsd in yesterday.
So, today I will -
:cool2: check banking and PAD
:cool2: crochet
:cool2: enjoy a day with my friend
:cool2: take the kids pokemon hunting
:cool2: get the kids to muck in and help with a quick tidy up before my friend gets here
I will be back later to check in - have a good day all.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all,
Well, so far today, all I seem to have dine is ironing. Looked at the pile & frankly didn't know whether to iron it or apply crampons & oxygen mask & climb it! Ironing is my worst job but it's done now & I caught up with recorded tv progs at the same time to relieve the monotony.
Other stuff:
*Wash some pillows. I usually chuck them in the bin but I tried washing one & line-drying & it came up lovely & fluffy so 3 more now being done rather than buying new.
*Make dough for pizza & bread rolls.
*Make loaf in BM.
*Use up more of our home grown produce for dinner.
*Freeze leftover dhal, courgette curry & garlic flatbreads made last night.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Knit more of Mum's present. 48 rows of lace to knit in lace-weight mohair. Couldn't concentrate last night so need to catch up.
*Still using that 'empty' lippy from tge tube with a brush.
*Water veggie garden.
*Pick salad & spring onions.
*Check CC statement which arrived this morning as I think I am only 5 points away from another £5 voucher.
Right, time to go & pound that bread dough then I can stop for lunch.

Afternoon all
Not a big list today as we went out for lunchRarely do this, but decided to as a treat, and it was lovely
Pricey though (or it is to me at any rate), just over £20 for food and drinks (tea for OH, elderflower stuff for me, no alcohol). Also bought some nice bread and cheese to bring home. We will have some of this for evening meal, with the soup I made yesterday
Apart from that:
Used a very ripe banana and a few blueberries from the bush in the garden for breakfast
Sold an ebay item, packed and posted it
Listed a few more
Relisted some that didn't sell
Popped into sales unit to tidy up, added a few more little bits to my display
Was given a couple of cucumbers by a neighbour as we walked the dog past the allotments
Still to do:
Water French beans
Deal with the veg I picked last night0 -

Thanks

Ooh Foxgloves - I don't envy you with lace weight yarn... I like aran or thicker otherwise it doesn't grow quickly enough for me.
Lovely day with my friend. Unfortunately spent a fortune but the good news is that the kids are done for summer and school clothes apart from shoes for the new term. All undies etc bought.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »
