Information only to insurance?
Options
Hi, just after some advice please.
Girlfriend has come home tonight and said she very slightly bumped a car in a school car park whilst reversing.
She left a note with the the reception since it was raining heavily and couldn't leave anything on the windscreen, she did wait a while also to see if anyone returned to the vehicle.
Said she looked very closely at the other persons vehicle and couldn't see any damage but didn't just want to drive away thinking everything was okay. There is also no marking on her bumper.
I've advised her on ringing the school tomorrow to see if they sourced the owner as they said would keep an eye out when other groups returned to the car park.
She is also going ring her insurance and tell them for information only, and this leads me to my question. What happens if nothing comes of it and all is okay ? Does she have to declare anything on renewal time ? Or is everything okay as no claim was made?.
Thanks
Shayne

Yes, she would need to declare the incident. If there's any chance she may have missed damage to the other vehicle due to it being wet she should also inform the police to comply with the road traffic act.0
