dongle does not work with new laptop

I have a new windows 10 laptop. I also have a 3G 3Connect Dongle which I use to get on line in locations where a wifi signal is not available, when I am out and about. It has always worked fine until I got the new windows 10 laptop.

First time out I installed the dongle and downloaded the 3Connect software and that installed ok. However when I plugged in the dongle, which it recognised, it displayed a message "no network available". When I got home I tried again in my home office, where the signals are fine for wifi and telephony. Still the same message "No network available". I plugged the dongle back into my old laptop and it works fine but that has a number of faults which is why I replaced it and is not a viable alternative. I need it to work with the new one.

The laptop works fine with wifi, just not with the dongle anymore. Any ideas?

Shame, I just sold my brand new Alcatel Y853 4G MiFi for £20. Instead I could have sold you a pristine Alcatel Y800 4G MiFi(mobile WiFi) for £15 and kept the Y853 as the spare.
That way it would have been a simple matter of you placing the 3 SIM within. No more problems.

Your USB modem is outdated. The 3 Connect software is likely not compatible with Windows 10.
There is a small possibility that the latest version of Huawei's Mobile Partner might work with your modem. But the likelihood is that it is time to retire the thing and to obtain a MiFi.
