Scottish Gas Boiler Replaement

I have a contract with Scottish Gas, for my Boiler and heating system.

This is an older system that has a Maxi Boiler and a Boiler mate Cylinder tank that stores the hot water, the idea being always hot water on demand.

I pay £22 a month for my contract cover. It continually breaks down they come order some parts and get it going for a few weeks then it breaks again.

This time Scottish Gas has offered me a new free Combi Boiler and I will only have to pay for the installation.

I have been quote previously £2000-£2500 to purchase and instal a Combi Boiler installed from a local firm.
I have tried to get a rough price from Scottish Gas before they come out to do my survey but they won't do.

Does anyone have any idea what Scottish Gas will quote me for a straightforward installation? A lot more than I've been quoted by a local firm for everything I suspect.

Let them come out do survey and give you quote. Have a good laugh and then get more estimates from local companies as your price looks dear to me? But perhaps its because I am not a fan of S/G if its truly free and just installation?

we had them out last week for a quote for replacing an old boiler with a combi and removing the tanks (that will now be surplus) £4.2k...I think the actual boiler cost is just over £1k leaving £3.2k for everything else. Next quote was £2.7k for the same (including the boiler)

Is the Green Deal finished? (Where the Government contributes towards energy efficiency improvements). We got a new boiler and controls a couple of years ago (Viessmann boiler, Danfoss controls) for about £1,900 all in.
