Windows 10 & Family tree maker install

I am trying to install family tree maker dvd onto new laptop with windows 10 it will not work, can anyone help me please.

Can you be more specific in what problems you are facing ??


Are you getting error messages ?
Is it not reading the disc ?


Does it install but not work ?


Are you just trying to promote that product (Username is a hint)

No I am not promoting the product.
I have just bought a new hp laptop with windows 10 and I cannot transfer my tree over to it until I install the Family tree Maker software, the Ancestry one. I think mackiev took it over when Ancestry opted out.
It is not reading any disk, I have tried a music dvd and this ancestry one.
Any help would be appreciated

Ok, first things first ..


Press the folder button, the beige coluoured one here ..



Then, in the window that pops up, press "This PC" ..





Now, Do you see a cd/dvd drive listed , like in this image ??





If so, and your disc is in the drive, what happens when you DOUBLE click this icon ??

Based on the new highly relevant information you have now decided to provide it sounds like there is either a hardware problem with your new computer, or there is an outdated or missing driver for the optical drive - in the former case, take it back to where you bought it, in the latter check for updated drivers or take it back.
