Hope someone can help me out,
I am with Virgin Media and am presently moving home. I am on a retention contract for £75 for 12 months (started in May) and £84 thereafter.
I have notified them of my address change, and moving in date. I asked on the call if my monthly payment would change and the chap said no, it wouldn’t.
I have now received a new contract through for £73.99 for 9 months, and £104.49 thereafter.
I have been e-mailing the chap assigned to my account since last week, and called them yesterday but it has been all quiet since. Surely they can’t insist it’s a new contract simply for moving house? It's simply an address change - I can connect the equipment myself!
If they do, what are my options?
Thanks for any help.

Yes a new address usually means a new contract .You have a contract at the current premises that you not VM are breaking .
You can pay off your existing contract and are free to sign to another provider .

The movers department have made a mess of your account. 90% of movers accounts are ballsed up in some way or another. And its because the movers calls are all dealt with by Outsource Overseas contact centre.
You need to call up the movers department and ask to speak to a manager and not take no for an answer. They will try and put you through to customer services but refuse as customer services can not deal with Movers contracts.
With regards your contract, you are correct you can keep your old deal on your movers account but they will charge you £20 Admin fee for processing the move.
Once you speak to the manager, make sure they have raised a complaint. This means they need to look into it for you.
Hope this helps!0
