Help finding a hotel in Boston

I'm really hoping someone here can help me out. I need to be in Boston between 29th September and 6th October for a work assignment, but I can't find a suitable hotel that is not fully booked.

I have a budget of around £120 (or preferably less) and I need to be in the downtown area or near the Boston Convention and Exhibition centre.

So far my only options seem to be either an airport hotel or a place called the Constitution Inn which appears to have some kind of military theme.

If anyone has any suggestions on places that might be worth trying they would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks

  • Hi there

Yes unfortunately Boston hotels aren't cheap but try this place

John Jefferies House - Located right beside the Esplanade and MGH T stop, about 10 mins walk to Boston common. http://www.johnjeffrieshouse.com/about-us.htm

You may have to up your budget or else stay outside the city and make your way in either by T (eg from Quincy) which can take about 30 mins or car although car parking in Boston downtown is not cheap either

The cheapest I can find for your dates in Boston is the Royal Sonesta ( $354 per night)which is just over the Charles River. It is a wee bit out from downtown but its near the Science Museum T stop or you can have a 20 min walk

Also remember for your budget that Boston has a 12.45% hotel tax that is added to your bill at the end of your stay

Another alternative is to split your time between 2 even 3 hotels although that can be annoying.
If you decide on that you should look at the Harborside Inn on State Street or Copley Square Hotel or see what deals you can get on Hotels.com

Any other help you need let me know

I assume you mean Boston USA and not Boston Lincs :D

Priceline or Hotwire may be an option, read this guide and register on Betterbidding for some well informed help.
  • I've just got back from a great stay in Boston/New England - used hotwire for hotels and got the (new) Intercontinental on the waterfront for $140/night. If it helps you might get a better deal on hotwire/priceline if you switch bookings/hotels midway through. Different hotels may have better offers on different dates...
