Wrong year on PCN

I received a PCN on a residential All day parking permit where by an honest mistake put the year 2017 as opposed to 2016. Is it worth an informal appeal within 14 days? If so, what can be the grounds? I've found from my previous used permits where I made the same mistake on one other occassion but wasn't penalised - may be it was missed or overlooked. Can I refer to this on my appeal? Please advise.

    name of PPC please ?
  • PPC - I'm assuming you're referring to Newham Council who gave the PCN. If not, please elaborate what PPC means?

If the PCN has the wrong year on it then it is fatal (as far as I know) ... the PCN cannot be enforced.

No, the permit had the wrong year scratched out, I think. But the Council should cancel this in the end even if they fight the first round. Pepipoo will help resolve this. Clearly the OP made the equivalent of a typo and the permit cannot have been used twice if 2017 was scratched by mistake (especially as these cards normally also require the DAY and DATE which will only match the 2016 calendar).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I think the OP is saying they put the wrong date on the day permit, not the wrong date was on the pcn bod.

Either way it appears to be council generated.
