Debt collectors are now involved

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been beaten to death but I a now getting concerned.

A while ago I went to the cricket in Chelmsford and stayed overnight in a local hotel who's car park was governed by Britain is Parking Group. I paid for the overnight parking but had to drop my girlfriend off at the station early in the morning and then returned to the car park.

A week or so late I received a notice charge (£65) from them with a photo of my car entering and leaving. I found this completely unfair because I had Park for the parking, so based on what I read I decided to ignore it. I received another letter "final notice" (£50) a week later and again ignored it.

Not I have a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd saying I owe £165 and have to pay before 18/08/16.

Up until not I have not had any contact with any of the parties involved. Should I ignore this one aswell? Or will I regret it?

    Yes ignore Debt collectors.

Ignore everything unless it's court correspondence.

(You were wrong to ignore initially but too late now)

See if you can get the hotel to get it cancelled

Contact the Hotel to tell them to cancel. (Otherwise you may be leaving a review on Tripadvisor)

Ah I thought I was doing the right thing at the time.

I did try to contact them but that was at the start of this and didn't really press it much. I'll try them tomorrow and what I can get out of them.

    Thanks for the advice!

Never worry about a scummy mother flupping debt collector, just ignore and get on with one's daily life
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

Britannia are very tame indeed. Get the Hotel to cancel this drivel.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
