CH: printing company recommendations please

Can anyone recommend a printer for our small community group please? The only one I know is Vistaprint, has anyone used them or can recommend anyone else? I've never used a printer before so no idea where to start.
We need to print some 4 page 'brochures' on light card, A5 when opened out so basically like a small birthday card. Max 75 of the things. I'm debating printing them at home as I've produced them myself but may not be most cost effective.
Any guidance about using a printing company gratefully received.
Thanks
DS

For business cards, DS1 uses Moo, no idea how that compares with Vistaprint where I think you get what you pay for.
DH uses a local printer who regularly have offers.
At work we use several local printers who will deliver, and I'd say if you're using colour ink then DIY could be a problem: ink runs low and you don't notice and so on. Quality is never as good, so I pretty much refuse to print external publicity at work unless it's non-colour!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Local printers/minureman
Print24
Stressfreeprint
Onlineprinting
I've used them all, all similar quality. The problem you note is that it's a very small print run, so there's no economy of scale. Unless you know for sure how to deliver the artwork correctly for one of these online services (crops and bleeds, pdf, CMYK, etc) then a local printer is your best bet as they'll guide you through, and can print test "proof" copies on the spot.0 -
Solopress
I have used them for years, great quality and service. Very competitive prices.0 -
There are a few good ones out there. I'm not a big fan of Vistaprint, you always know when you've been handed one of their business cards.
I do like to support local to me where possible, but when its not I use instantprint or highheelcreative.co.uk0 -
Thank you everyone. Lots of great ideas and food for thought. Will follow up.0

I use https://www.alocalprinter.co.uk too. They often do cheaper small runs on some items. They are really helpful on the phone and on email if you have any queries.0

It is a very competitive market. I tend to use a local printer who print leaflets and drop them off, but shop around!0
