AA not taken first DD payment?

Hi, took an AA 0% balance transfer card and st up a DD to pay £200 per month, first payment was due Fri 5th, noticed nothing showing from my bank so phoned AA to be told all set up and showing ok on their system, Saturday I checked on internet but still nothing showing taken from bank. Called bank and was told DD set up ok but AA had not requested any money yet so phoned AA again to be told everything is fine and that it takes up to 3 days to show. Just checked now and still nothing showing .
Now I have had a few DD's recently and they all show up on the first day, a few years ago it was different and did take a few days to show.
Just worried they may say late payment and cancel the 0%.

Look carefully at your statement, does it show that this first payment will be taken by DD ? If not then it will not be and you will need to grovel on the phone. The first statement often misses the DD set up, many get caught out.

It's a known issue with BOI issued cards. I queried the same thing with them and got the same reply as yourself.


How BOI operate is that the date they put on the statement is the date they submit the batch file to BACS. My payment date was also Friday 5th and I expect them, based on previous months, to actually take it tomorrow, 9th August.


So check again in the morning.
