I've narrowed down my choice to a 2103 Yaris Hybrid T4 with 45K on the clock at £7500 or Yaris VVT-i TR auto with 27,411 miles, at the same price. Both from a main dealer. I think I prefer the hybrid but is the milage too high? I do about 3000 miles a year, mostly short journeys, no motorway driving. Any opinions on which is the best buy please?

At only 3000 miles a year I doubt the existing mileage will make much difference. How efficient are both cars and are fuel costs an issue for you? I found out through my own research that hybrid cars barely perform better than diesels in terms of fuel economy (in fact they are often worse) but I believe they are significantly better than petrol for city driving.0

Your motoring suits the hybrid, perfect in fact.
Have you searched around for a better deal nationally, with Toyota used approved warranty any Toyota dealer can sort it out in the highly likely event it gives any trouble, 45k miles is not a bother, it will take you another 15 years to double that, but i would try to find a better price if i could.0 -
Can the 2103 model fly? If so, I'd probably go for that one..
Serious note though, the hybrid, definitely. If the other car is the 1.33 then that engine is bordering on ancient, the hybrid is much more advanced, 45000 miles is nothing, within 3 years at 54000 it will be far under average mileage for the year. Check it has the full Toyota history as should have another 2 years Toyota warranty left. Make sure the airbag light goes out, they're chuffing expensive to replace and they'll try and do you under wear and tear.0 -

If you get the hybrid buy a proper trickle charger, 60 miles a week might not be enough to keep the starter battery charged.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

My wife has a Lexus CT, same technology, doing 4k miles / year for the last 4 years. Absolutely no issues with starting or anything else. She basically goes 4.5 miles to work and back each day and possibly a couple of miles between offices occasionally then 5 miles at weekends going to the shops each way.
Absolutely loves the car and the economy suits her perfectly.
Go for the hybrid0
