BW legal wrong keepers details

Hi,
Apologies for posting but I cannot find a thread that matches my circumstances.
I have been getting numerous letters from BW legal on behalf of Excel since an alleged offence in February 2015.
However, due to an error from the kind people at the DVLA all letters have had my name spelt incorrectly (very incorrectly).
I read advice on other forums to ignore the letters (maybe not correct) but have now received a 'final notice' letter that threatens County Court proceedings.
What I wanted to know is that due to every letter having the incorrect name on and also stating on the envelopes 'to be opened by addressee only' what is the best course of action to take. As I have assumed all along (maybe naively) that any actual request for payment from the court that doesn't have my correct details on would be worthless and the whole process would start again from the beginning in which case I would then follow the advice on other threads.
Thanks in anticipation.

You have followed bad advice.
If you now have a letter before court claim you need to set about reading up on your defence.
