They can't, you will have to get the judgement set aside through courts.

UPDATE: but if they've made a mistake, you can also demand to have your court costs covered.

ok follow these steps
1) first of all do not pay of the amount owed if you are challenging it.
2) contact the company who placed the CCJ and ask them that if you pay the amount owed will then send a consent letter to the court to remove the CCJ and explain to them about that you did not see the letter.

3) if they say no you will have to fill out a court form, cant remember what one it is and request an hearing.
