Tablets

Being pretty useless with technical stuff, I'd really apreciate some advice please - at least here it'll be unbiased whereas a salesperson just wants to push any product my way!
1st I bought a Samsung Galaxy 10" tablet last year - a reconditioned one as a 1st buy to see how they were. Been really pleased but sometimes when I touch the link or whatever I want to go to, it's really hard for it to do. Sometimes I'm tapping the link repeatedly to get it to do what I want. I've seen othr people on phones or tablets who don't seem to have that problem. Is that likely to be because it's reconditioned?
Secondly, can you recommend both a new 10" if I need to upgrade & also a slightly smaller one that'll be a bit more portable. Not into spending mega bucks, just want something that'll respond better. I only browse the web on it & send emails. Thanks in advance.

What links are you tapping on, on emails or forums like this ?

    You just tap the link.

The fact its not working for you is nothing to do with it being a second hand unit, well imo it isn't.

I have similar intermittent problems with my Samsung tablet but other times it responds immediately. I think it's probably something to do with network speed if links take a while to open, my son-in-law said there's probably loads of "junk" running in the background.

Have you tried pinch and zoom, or a stylus?

^^ this - sometimes its hard to click the links if they are small.
Especially if you have big sausage fingers like me :)

Try to pinch and zoom and then see if the links work ..

Tried pinch & zoom & can stilll be the same. I have to admit that when typing (as i am now!) it doesn't miss any taps i make. It's when I click on any link within a website, such as an item on ebay or a new article on MSN. Tried a pen which make no difference.
Our internet connection isn't great, so could be that by the sounds of it, if the keyboard responds 100% ?

If it's only certain websites, then they may be pretty heavy duty ones, that your tablet is struggling to keep up with. Try installing another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera) from the Play Store, and see if those websites are more responsive. Download the speedtest app, and do a test, and tell us your download speed. Obviously when you tap a link, it has to be loaded from the internet, but you should get an indication somewhere that it has been pressed, and that something is loading. I'd certainly also be doing a full factory reset before spending money on another tablet if you're happy with this one otherwise.
