Morning all,
My GF had a difficult day on Friday and so we out for a nice meal which she really appreciated.
Saturday was her works 100th year anniversary so they had a family fun day to celebrate. All the guys played 5-a-side and I was dragged in, my legs are in bits today, however I did win £100 worth of Slaters vouchers!! At night we went to my friends football teams Racenight. It turned out be a costly night in getting home etc however I’m glad we did leave when we did as there was a knife attack shortly after we left and someone died. Scary and sad stuff.
Yesterday was a NSD and a lazy one with family as usual.
Back to the grind today with work becoming less…well, work. The wheels are now in motion for me to hand over what I’m working on with my colleague so I’m finding that I’m doing less and less which really isn’t like me. Anyway, back to it.
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Phoned the hospital this morning, OH had a good night and had eaten his breakfast, Drs rounds this morning so he may ring me later. So obviously the morphine has cleared his system. I fully realise the seriousness of his condition, its just others who do not. Years of nursing becomes ingrained. Morphine was the last option for pain relief.
Monday clean done and a load of laundry out on the line, put the washer on and went back to bed for an hour, so it was done by the time I got my feet on the floor. Its blooming cold today after the last few days heat and the wind is blowing a hoolie, very grey clouds scudding across the sky.0 -
Deleted_User I do hope you have some good news regarding your OH. I'm glad the morphine clearedhis system.I had a very severe reaction to morphine when I was in hospital years ago, and have
'Do not administer Morphine' in large black letters on all of my medical files as it really could polish me off !!
The weather here is beautiful and sunny with just a light drying breeze and I am frantically making sure the boys have brought all of their washing down stairs to be done before Thursday.
The hamster seems to be OK with its holiday:) and sits in its cage covered with a cotton sheet to keep it cool whilst travelling. he is part of the family so it has to come with us.Tropical fish stay at home though
DD gets a special slow release block for them for the first week, then her sister pops in to feed them the second week.
Boys are sorting out the books they want to take and I am in charge of scrabble and cards as we really do enjoy old fashioned entertainment on holiday. TV is rarely on as if the weather is good we are outside for most of the time.I have my knitting bag all sorted and ready to be packed in the car.I knit anywhere I am,and often enjoy just sitting by the shore clicking away while the boys are 'crabbing' probably sounds quite boring to a lot of people, but we do enjoy a slower, simpler life, especially when we are on holiday. It would drive my eldest daughter absolutely potty ,but then her idea of fun is retail therapy which bores me rigid.different strokes for different folks I think. A beach, a flask and a nice comfy chair and I'm a happy old biddy
:):)while I watch the boys swimming or larking around with a kite or with the dog.

Hugs to Laineys Mum & AOD,shame you cant have a day off.
Speky, how awful & sad about the knife attack.
Still very windy here,it blew our glass top garden table over during the night as the parasol was still up.Luckily its ok but made Ly1a bark-we looked out of the bedroom window but thats at the front so didnt see anything wrong till we went down this morning.
Popped into town this morning as I'd run out of face cream, got it from M/S and also if you spent £10 on picnic/deli you got a free cool bag.We needed a new one as we are going on a trip to the races on my birthday at the end of the month with friends and have decided to all take a picnic this year,so it's just the job for that.
Right I'm carrying on now with my tidying, living with 3 grown men I'm convinced they just dont notice stuff lying around. After DS2 trip camping with the DGC we still have a tent and its assorted paraphenalia,an overnight bag and3 pairs of shoes ,a hoody & DGD cardigan in the kitchen
Not sure what to do for tea but plenty of options in the fridge-Ill see what I fancy later xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi all,
We were out and about in London yesterday visiting my neice who lives in Bow. We walked to the local park - Victoria Park - and had a family picnic. My DSis, her family, plus my Mum, Dad and Stepmum. Lovely time had by all.
DH not too happy today. Had a call regarding the job he interviewed for. They would like to see him for a 3rd time but the salary is a 40% drop and that will mean just about enough to pay our bills - no money to save or have for social life. It's a toughy because anything is better than the JSA he is getting. He has an interview tomorrow and another on Wednesday so we are hoping something comes from them.
Dinner tonight is baked side of salmon with jacket pots and veg. Need to send DS2 to Tesco for lemons!
One load of washing on the line and another to put on - when DS2 gets his act together and brings his laundry bin downstairs grrrr.
Hugs to all in need of one.
