Leaking shower - what kind of tradesman do I need?

Hi all,
My en suite shower is leaking. When I moved in, water was dropping off the hose and trickling down into the main shower bit and down the plug hole. I bought a new hose with new washers thinking it would fix the problem but it hasn't - when I unscrewed the old hose and took it off, the bit (connector, valve!? No idea what it's called) which connects the hose to the wall is just dripping water constantly.
Where do I start with this one.. Handyman? Plumber? Electrician!? I'm clueless! Thanks
