Windows 10 Earphone problem when watching vids

Everything was great since the update from 7 to 10. Now i cant plug my earphones into Laptop and watch a vid if the vid has already started. I need to put earphones in and then restart the vid from beginning for it to kick in on the Earphones.
Any idea's on how to sort this annoying problem, folks?
