Dyson excellent customer service

I ordered a Dyson upright vacuum from the company website, but when it arrived, I found it too heavy to push around the carpets, and carrying it upstairs was very difficult (my old age!!). The cleaning power was amazing, so I really wanted a lighter model. I knew it came on a 14-day money back guarantee, but had used it for 2 days and expected to be told it had to be returned 'as new', in original packing, etc. Thought I would just have to persevere with it.
However I phoned helpline to find out if I could exchange it. We discussed the various models and I asked to change to a cordless. This was listed as more expensive, but turned out to be on special offer, so was cheaper. I explained it had been used twice and although I would empty the container, was I expected to clean filters, etc?. I was told this wasn't necessary as the company wanted customers to be happy using their purchased product.
They arranged for the new vacuum to be delivered next day and for a courier to collect the old one in 2 days' time. Price difference was refunded. Nothing was too much trouble for the helpful customer service agent.
(Incidentally, I'm finding the cordless one just as good as the upright - OK, I have to empty the container more often, but this is no great deal. Really one of my better household buys.)

I agree with your remarks, Dyson's customer service is second to none!
Several years ago, we purchased a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately, however, the motor quickly burnt out. Dyson sent out a second motor with a few days, with no problems,
Unfortunately, through the years, the motor has had to be replaced several times, the last time when Dyson's 5 year guarantee was almost at an end.
Each time the motor has been speedily replaced, and although I can't recommend the motors used on our Dyson, I can definitely - without hesitation - recommend their excellent customer service.0
