We have been offered the above to cover our sky box, dish and remote controls for £8.99 per mth
All our equipment is outwith warranty. Do you think its worth it ?

Save a tenner a month and in 12 months you will have a buffer for this.
Check out Ebay for boxes and remotes (mine cost £45) IMO you are wasting your money (unless you are already starting to have problems).

You can buy remote controls from Argos for £10.99 - £19.99, so not worth it for those. Replacement box is only £99, and satellite dishes cane bought for £30ish.

You could just save the £8.99 for a few months and then you'd have enough if something happens to any of them.

I think it depends on how long you've been with them.


I've been with Sky for 13 years and when equipment has failed, they have asked me to pay for replacement kit. I have then threatened to leave and they always agree to replace it free of charge.

we have bought boxes on gumtree for around £30. When they called with the hard sell to me recently (huge costs if something goes wrong etc) I just said, no thanks I have a spare box in the cupboard

No!

Put the money aside each month if you are worried about not having enough money to cover repairs and replacements.
