Annual travel insurance

My wife and I have an annual travel insurance policy which runs until February 2017. We have booked a holiday for June of 2017. To ensure we have travel insurance cover do we simply need to ensure that we either renew our insurance (or take out new policy) when the current one expires for our holiday next June to be fully covered.
That may sound a silly question but we were thinking about if we had to cancel our June 2017 holiday before the expiry of the current policy, they may claim "but your travel dates are not covered by this policy. My thought process was "but if we make a travel related claim within the period of the annual policy, its covered". I've had a read through the documents but cant find anything which covers this type of scenario.

You could call them to clarify?Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

you booked the holiday whilst you were insured so covered that way, when you renew your annual policy you will still be covered so no problem unless something that you have to declare ( health changes ) are not disclosed when renewing.0
