Sainsburys homebase order

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice. I ordered a sofa from the sofa sale at homebase at the end of may, I paid for the order in full & was given a delivery date of june/July (can't remember exactly). Near to the delivery date I was telephoned to say the sofa was no longer available but they could supply me with a more expensive replacement for the same price, I accepted their offer & was told someone would be in touch with a delivery date. On 13th June I received an email & then a text to say that my sofa would be delivered on 7th August between 7am & 12. His day has arrived & after contacting homebase recall delivery time I'm being told that no sofa is available to be delivered. Someone from the recovery dept is contacting me tomorrow but just wondered where I stand re consumer rights & the fact they have had my money since end of may. Thanks in advance

Your complaint has nothing to do with Sainsburys. They sold Homebase to Home Retail Group in 2006 and it's now owned by Australian retailer Wesfarmers.nyarlathotep0

If they haven't or wont deliver a sofa to you then you'll be entitled to a refund.0 -
I've been told it's highly unlikely I'll be getting a new sofa from them. Was looking at my original order & I ordered at the end if April. Very annoying that they've had my money so long & no product to show for it.0

See what the "Recovery Department" has to say....Nyarlathotep wrote: »Your complaint has nothing to do with Sainsburys.0 -

Look at the order's terms and conditions carefully to see whether you were bound to follow through on the order - in other words could you have cancelled before delivery without penalty?
Also how did you pay e.g. by credit card, etc?0
