Iphone 4, incoming withheld numbers, handsfree

Not sure whether this question falls under phones or techie, so apologies, but I’ve posted on both.
OH has an iphone 4, paired successfully via Bluetooth with car. Hands-free works fine receiving and making calls through the car unless there’s a call from a withheld number (including mine), and then the hands-free doesn’t work. The only way of picking up the call is by using the actual phone. Withheld numbers don’t even ring through the car, only on the phone. OH used to have a Nokia and it worked perfectly through the car (including withheld numbers). Does anyone know how to resolve this please?

Is it possible the "Do Not Disturb" feature has been activated?
That would cause your phone to ignore all calls, except those from numbers in your contact list.0 -
