Import registrations number check

Import registrations number check. Will it always be vehicle not found on websites and such when searching records ?

Have found places that will not carry out work because they can not look for parts by the REG and can not check using the Vin number.

The various lookup sites use the make/model from the DVLA record, as found by the reg, to search for the right parts.

When an import is registered, the make/model aren't taken from the same manufacturer-supplied lists as when a new vehicle is registered, so they may well be listed differently, or even just as a generic. I've got V5Cs for imports with the model blank or something as generic as "two axle rigid body".

It's one of the risks of personal import vehicles - if you're not able or willing to do some basic legwork yourself, or your garage are so inflexible, then you might find life easier staying in the mainstream.

Find a UK spec car and use that reg to order parts.
