I don't if anybody can help with this. My father in law on average pays £109 monthly for Sky. I know he likes sports channels and he has his phone with Sky. It just seems excessive to be paying that a month. Can anybody advise here, is it the norm?
In addition he's just had deducted £12 for something called Box Nation.... Again we haven't a clue so any help would be appreciated

He is probaly subscribed to numerous services.
Sports pack can cost £47.50 on its own monthly.and the Sky Line Rental is £17.40 a month without calls. Thats £65 without blinking.. It can all build up if he is paying top wack for everything.
https://www.boxnation.com is a 247 boxing channel.0 -
The only thing he doesn't use often is the phone line.... But gullable he is. Thank you for that.
Does he need Box Nation if he's subscribing to SKY sports???If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0 -
It's about normal for the full package. Is he out of contract? If so point him to this thread, should be able to get at least a third off that.

What you need to help him with is what he can afford versus what he actually wants to view.
Sounds like he's subscribed to all the Sport channels available, but it's not for anyone here to say he is "gullible" for doing so...
As others have said, you can probably get him a reduction on the cost by getting him to cancel the lot. Sky will generally offer a generous discount to keep him as a customer.
He does need to be past the minimum term of his contract, however.0 -
I change my parents Broadband/ Phone as well as their utilities. Will be moving to home insurance when I get the chance. Much cheaper for them to save, they aren't internet savvy nor thick skinned as I am in grabbing a deal.
Sky usually require a telephone passcode which your father will need to agree to you knowing and speaking on his behalf if he wants.
Some people are resistant to change, however you can ensure he is fully informed and can afford such packages. At the end of the day if he has his marbles, it's his choice tbh."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
