Insurance and licence address

This could be complicated so bear with me!

I live abroad and move to the uk soon, I hold a licence in my country (to get this they destroyed my uk plastic bit and gave me one of theirs), I have checked the dvla database and my uk licence is still live and valid but registered to an old address. I just need to update the address once back and it will be reissued.

But, I am staying in temp accom for the first fortnight before moving into a permanent address. So I don't want to apply for a replacement until I am in the permanent.

My parents are selling me their car so it's ready as soon as I get back. As with licence, I don't really want to send off the v5 until in a permanent address and they are happy to keep it in their name until then.

However I am not sure of insurance implications of if we can even do this? And if they would, what addresses do I use for the insurance! Parents? Temporary or new address?
Any suggestions would be welcomed?

Your parents could keep ownership of the car until you are settled with a permanent address and change their insurance to you being the main driver.

Update all your details to the address u will be living at perminantly. that is all.

By the time you get the v5c back you will be in your new address.

And just do same with insurance.
