Thorpe park eating advice

We are doing a 3 day Merlin trip next week. Our plan is to have a packed lunch every day but we are visiting Thorpe park on the last day and head home after something to eat. We are looking for advice on somewhere reasonable for a quick tea. We get discount on food in the park having the premium passes so is the food really a rip off or is it just easier to eat there before we leave.

We used to have Merlin passes and even with the discount we found the food was overpriced and not very good. My daughter and her boyfriend went to Thorpe Park about 10 days ago and said they had a cheap meals at a Wetherspoons Pub in Staines High Street which was about 5 mins from the Park by car. There are other places to eat there as well.

I presume that the places in Thorpe are overpriced but try to weigh up tired hungry child after 3 days of Merlin parks. Just want somewhere we can get to easily and get home from easily too. Thanks for the tip. Is the pizza pasta place in Thorpe a bit rubbish or will it do for a easy tea

Pizza pasta in Thorpe is ok, usually plenty to choose from, hot and reasonably freshly cooked.

The fish and chips are good at Thorpe aswell.

Fish and chips sound good. It's just what is easy. If there was something just outside like a nice cheap pub that would be fine too but we want to get straight on motorway and get home after.

MY children are teens now (TP is really more suited to teens) and even though they love a takeaway pizza and pasta normally they did not like the buffet one in Thorpe Park. We only went once and found it to be very busy and although food was replaced quickly by staff, it was not great.

I know thorpe has a lot of older rides like alton towers. But unlike alton towers it has a good variety of wet rides and my son LOVES water more than roller coasters. He also loves angry birds so worth it for that alone. We are going to lego land on Tuesday and Weymouth sea life tomorrow. Maybe I might get on an ride as single rider if I am lucky. We went to Chessington last time so thought thorpe would be a change.

    Thanks for advice

If the weather is good, don't forget swimwear and towel as TP has a nice beach area. Legoland also has a nice water play area.

Well we did things the wrong way round. We ate in legoland the day before at the pizza pasta place. Got kids eat free deal and 10% off other adult meal. So for about £22 we all ate and had drinks. It was the only way to survive 9hrs in the park, as it shuts at 7. So thorpe park we were quite tired and not bothered about staying all day so ate at services on way home. There were some ok places to try in both legoland and thorpe but my fussy eater is more interested in the toy in a happy meal than the food itself. Thanks for the advice. We had a fab time
  • I have used the pub nearby called the Twynersh - like a harvester some good deals , basic food and a asda petrol station with small food bit is close by on the same road in to thorpe park.
