Does it ever happen?
I'm closing my basic accounts and transferring my Help to Buy ISA to Halifax, but that means I'll lose online access for 'my offers'
So far I'll I've been selected for is a savings account. Do they ever offer credit cards and/or bank account?
Thinking of keeping a savings account open with a quid in it so they still get a monthly feed to see my credit report is improving.... otherwise I'll have to apply from scratch in a year and be fully searched

It does happen. They keep trying to get me to upgrade to the FlexPlus even though I recently downgraded from it. Had a few letters for the credit card too.
Thinking about when they've sent these letters/shown invites in online banking, I don't think keeping an account open and not using it produces them. The letters have turned up when funds were being put through these accounts (it doesn't seem to discriminate between BACS and a transfer to meet pay in requirements, if you'd prefer to use an account elsewhere as your main account.) I used to use Nationwide as my main account, but now use Tesco and the offers keep coming.
Keeping an account open would just speed things up as you shouldn't need to provide ID when opening something else, plus your internet banking login (if you have one) should remain unaffected.
I tend to ignore pre-approved offers - when I opened the FlexPlus, I wasn't pre-approved for it, even though I was an existing FlexAccount customer.0
