I'm wondering if anyone has a similar experience with a parking fine which I see as unfair?
I parked in a hurry as I have a gastric condition and needed to rush to the loo!
I parked on a retail park and I guess did break the rules by parking over a line BUT
1) A large mobile home was parked to my RHS and was completely filling a space,
2) I left a reasonable gap and parked to his LHS but I went over the boundary line on my LHS
3) The space to my left hand side is not useable on the car park as a post has been erected (so the can chain up the car park of an evening) so I certainly was not preventing someone using that space!
4) The car park is a free car park however reading the small print the following day it does say to park within marked bays.
I feel the ticket is unfair. The car park is free and I was only there for 20 minutes, I did not prevent any one parking to my LHS as that space is not useable. If I had gone in the middle of the space, I would not have been able to open the door with a mobile home next to me.
Any advice gratefully received! NB The parking firm are a member of a trade body so can potentially get my details from DVLA.
Best wishes
Bob

Of course it's unfair, it's one of the ppc's raft of do's and don'ts to trap you into having to pay them money.
Forget the mitigation it should work in a fair country, and that's what the first appeal should be all about, but you entered cowboy ppc scam land.
