Just decided to look at the price of our return flight to Dalaman next week, £390. Hope they don't ask for anymore, as I only paid £2500

Only if that condition was part of your contract with the provider. Unlikely for UK based holiday companies, but quite common for cruises, particularly if booked in the US.0
