Selling small numbers of shares in a few companies-options?

Options
what is the best option for selling small numbers of shares in a few companies? Do we have to use Equiniti and other companies?
The shares are in both my late parents names and I have probate for both so the assets can be shared with my siblings.
There are some that look as though they are no longer trading too. Plus lots of dividends were not cashed due to ill health.

We have had a few recent dividends reissued at a charge of £20 for each cheque that was worth only a couple of pounds more. We really don't want to spend more selling the shares than they are worth. Thanks for any advice.

Ar they held physically or electronically?

The cheapest option is somewhere like x-o, which charge no fees apart from about £5 per trade.

However you'll presumably have to get these transferred into you or your siblings names in order to sell them, and the brokers may charge for the transfer as well.
  • Some are paper and some electronically. Do we have to transfer them into my name before selling?
