Hot air balloon ride

HI all,

I am wanting to get my dad a hot air balloon ride for his 60th, All the ones I find online seem to be crammed in like sardines and I know my dad would prefer to chat with the guy flying the thing. Does anyone know of any more private bookings where there are only say 3/4 people?

Thanks

Worth knowing the county you wish to take him ballooning over. Some firms offer exclusive packages or smaller balloon trips, but depends on where you want to go.

I don't think they will be able to cram many bodies in. I went in one for my 50th birthday, me, husband, two sons and the guy. I think that was its capacity.

So why not go as a family rather than him having to go with strangers.

    Ours was over Bath. Fab.

Is it something your dad has expressed a desire for? Only saying as we knew mum was interested in a flight so we got her one for her 60th birthday. She was days short of her 62nd birthday when she finally flew as it is VERY weather dependent and the slightest variant stops the take off.
We're up North and had it booked for the Lake District, so factor in getting there very early for a morning flight or staying over. If you stay over and it's cancelled you've still had to pay for the sleepover! We then moved it to a more local sight but it was cancelled so many times my mum was fed up with the anticipation then let down that when she eventually flew was slightly underwhelmed.
