    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need them x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light bright blue sky and sunshine, a bit breezy though. Load ready to go out on the line shortly.

DH in the bath, DS2 now eating brekkie, DS1 still in his pit. I'm showered, dressed, had brekkie will be drying my hair and putting my make up in a mo.

Dinner last night was chicken and bacon kievs, chips and beans/salad for the menfolk, I had mushroom omelette and salad. Tonight dinner will be HM spare ribs, southern fried chicken pieces and minted lamb kebabs, onion rings, side salad, new pots, pasta salad/coleslaw.

I was reasonably productive yesterday I got the food shopping done and everything put in either freezer/fridge/store cupboard - they are all creaking under the weight and full to capacity. I want to use some things up as outside freezer desperately needs defrosting. DS2 stripped his bed and that got washed, dried and re-made. I also did some baking, I made a 2 doz fruit cupcakes, 1 doz chocolate tarts and a few jam tarts.

We have a few jobs to do today, so we'll see how we get on.

    Keep safe and well x

  • Jackie, yes we still had worries back then, but not the same kind. The sixties for me and Himself were wonderful, we met in 65 in Kent when I was on holiday, we only saw each other every third weekend. His Mum died from breast cancer the following year just after we were engaged. I moved down to Kent to look after him and his Dad and we were married the following year. DD1 was born 15 months after we were married in Tankerton

The music , the clothes and the freedom which came with the 60s had never been known by our generation before.

You could leave a job on Friday and walk into another one on the Monday. We weren't paid very much, but we seemed to manage. We had never known money, because our parents had never had much either.

I knitted a lot in those days, and made dresses for our 2 girls and for myself as well, on an old Singer machine.

I didn't go back to work until DD1 was 10 and DD2 was 6 and then only partime.

As TA says no one told us we would be old one day, probaby as well.:):)

    Happy memories

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one.

No parcel delivery yesterday doubt it will come today, so fingers crossed for Monday.

Oh much brighter last night when I finally got in to see him. They are trying to shrink the clot, obviously do not want it to move. He will not be out for a few days yet. The chap in the next bed is very disruptive, OH has not slept for two nights. I have asked them to move OH, it's not doing him any good.

Laundry in, I have a bag packed ready to take in this morning with fresh clothes in, he is sleeping in just underpants, it's so hot in the ward. I want to cut the front grass today, will do the back tomorrow. Going to DD2's for supper so will visit in the afternoon. I need to put fuel in the car, the little man came on last night, so will have to go via Melton this morning.

Time to get up and get on......."

    Morning all,

Beautiful bright day here wm has been on with OH work clothes which are now on the line and I have put another load in, dd is bound to have some too but she is still asleep and I will leave her as she has had a busy / stressful week.

Need to have a good tidy round today but with the three of us it wont take too long, OH and I are going to some friends tonight in the next village for a bbq and drinks we need to take some meat and booze so will go and get them this morning, another friend will be there who I have not seen for many years, she was my best friend for years and then ran off and left her husband for another chap and cut all contact with everyone, it will be lovely to see her but maybe a bit strange ? she did not stay with the chap for long but is now married to someone else.

Little Evie is going to my mums for the evening as the friends have just got a rescue and we need to introduce them slowly.

Right better get on have good days all

Topst nie to 'see' you xx

    Morning all,
The sun has come out but I can see grey skies in the distance.
I seem to be feeling a bit better so hope it lasts.Although I dont mind that I lost some weigh.
Bed stripped bedding and linen on the line will keep watch on the weather.
OH has gone to do some shopping, hes going to mow the back lawn this afternoon if the rain stays off.
I am starting to go through the bedroom again to get rid of the clothes ( i might fit in again)
Also want to remove some of the dust collectors from the room.
    Well thats my weekend sorted

Gers you sound to have had a good day despite the crowds, have you decided you are happy where the furniture is now?. You sound very much like me, I sit here and think about it and then have a move around to see if I am happy with it .

The furniture problem is on-going. I've now moved the things around three times (only three 'usable' walls and none of the four walls is unbroken) to no avail, I still hate having the table in the room. It'll go out into the big barn once OH gets home or a neighbour calls round, just to see if it's better. We've not had a table for many years and have got used to using the coffee table, no idea why I thought it a good idea!

I've got bed linen out drying, been to the shops for veggies and fruit and watched my lovely new visitor to the peanut feeders - a young great spotted woodpecker. He's been back three times already this morning.

Yesterday I found that some stone slabs are under a part of the grass so began clearing them. Also found part of a brick border at another part of the lawn, looks like it was well looked after at one point so I'd like to clear all the growth away before winter sets in.
