Es parking enforcement

Options
I received a fine through the post for stopping in spinning fields Manchester. They caught it by camera.
I ignored the first few letters including a solicitor letter. I have now received a claim form from gladstones.
Not sure whether to carry on ignoring or reply?

I've read through the other threads and apologise if the answers are on there but I can't make sense of what to do. Thank you.

If the form is from court you need to deal with it.

If it's from Gladstone it's not a claim form.

Go to the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum for advice on dealing with court
  • So called "ES parking enforcement" are a disgusting set of borderline criminals who think they can rip people of for £100 a pop. I too received a parking ticket for STOPPING at the rear of the Court building in Spinningfields, Manchester. I challenged it ALL THE WAY and have just received an e.mail from the IAS Appeals informing me " Thank you for your appeal. Due to further information ES Parking Enforcement Ltd has confirmed they will no longer be pursuing the matter and the parking charge has been cancelled.". Do NOT pay these scumbags a penny but also do not ignore the notice. Challenge them at every step including going back to take your own photos. They ALWAYS behave in a predatory way which is in direct contravention of the IPC's guidelines of which they are a member.

You have a claim! You can't ignore it. You need to acknowledge it online using the MCOL password on the front. That buys you an extra 14 days to work on a defence.

If you can't work out what to do, you have not read the right threads. Try a forum search for these words: 'Gladstones claim defence' and read ones already done and draft your own version of defence, by cribbing from those. Show us first.

DO NOT reply to any new poster offering to 'help'. Regulars here have over 1000 or 10000 posts and we help you on the open forum not by email or pm. Gladstones claims are pretty useless mostly, and can be defended. Read other relevant threads.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Use Google Street View to get images of the signs at the location - or lack of signs which is the likely case.

Also look for cases where there is a "forbidding" offer. There is no contract for "forbidding" offers so no breach of contract.

Lastly there is newspaper article about ESP at that site and predatory tactics. Get a copy of that too.

  • How did you challenge them? Was it lack of signs?
I'll have a look at the boards. Thank you.

Whilst the other poster has had his cancelled, via the IAS (they must be short on their numbers by all accounts for successful appeals), you NEED to concentrate on your court claim.

As the others have said - acknowledge service of the claim, as this buys you extra time to submit a defence.
