Holidaylettings.co.uk behaving badly?!

booked a cottage in Yarmouth yesterday, paid the deposit, but the small print stated the owner has 24 hours to accept or decline the booking. 21 hours later I have not received confirmation or a decline. I emailed the holiday cottage directly and this was their response:
'Hi,
I'm really sorry but we aren't taking bookings for Summer 2017 yet, we are not sure whether that cottage will be available to hire. Unfortunately when the Holiday Lettings website cannot find a price it just defaults to the low season price. If the cottage is available next summer, we will probably keep the same 2016 prices, which is £1,185 per week inclusive of all costs. We will only be able to do a Saturday to Saturday booking.
Sorry about this, but the way Holiday Lettings defaults to this price is frustrating for us too.
Best regards'
I am appauled that I wasted time researching the area etc and paid a deposit, only to find out the cost of £564 I was was quoted is less than half the price of what the owner actually wants for the property. I won't be using holiday lettings again... What a useless site!

Didn't you think there was something wrong with the price in the first place? You know the saying if it's to good to be true right?0

Thank you for the warning.
I will not waste my time looking there.0
