I've won this too - and I have won it previously. Just deleted it.Why do mice have such small balls?

lot of runners up in this one. I avoid things like this; if they were being honest there would be no delivery charge and the option would have to be to opt in to the subscription.

So if you want 8 beers and some snacks for £6 it's not a bad deal, full price however is a different matter. Also the beers I received were not available in the supermarket and generally cost £1.70-£2.50 each elsewhere.
Beside the point because its in the small print that you will automatically be subscribed to the paid service. I presume you have to give bank details or card details to pay the postage. They will then take monthly subscription for that. There are going to be a lot of older people and others who haven't noticed the small print. Whichever way you look at it its a disgusting marketing ploy using details of comp entries.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

I keep getting "winning" emails like this too. Had four or five in the last week for beer, earrings, kids toys, and books, all going on about various p&p costs. Even had a phone call about kids books and paying p&p and signing up to a subscription.
Something weird is going on with comps lately.0 -

Almost ASA worthy.
I think you are right!
I was searching for something else to do with ASA and came across the following:
https://www.cap.org.uk/~/media/Files/CAP/Help%20notes%20new/PromotionsWithPrizesHelpNote.ashx
Para 5.1 states:
"Winners must not incur costs to claim a prize or equivalent benefit. Promoters may require
consumers to incur costs to enter but must ensure that the winner can make arrangements to
receive their prize or gift without incurring cost. This means promoters must not invite
consumers to call a telephone number to leave their contact details in order to claim a gift or
prize if there is any charge for that call (promoters may invite consumers to contact them on a
Freephone number)."
I can't get into my emails at the moment to see what their email said, but I'm fairly sure it clearly contravenes the above.0 -
If it went out to everyone then it is not a prizePromoters must not claim that consumers have won a prize if they have not. The distinction between prizes and gifts, or equivalent benefits, must always be clear. Ordinarily, consumers may expect an item offered to a significant proportion of participants to be described as a ‘gift’, while an item offered to a small minority may be more likely to be described as a ‘prize’. If a promotion offers a gift to a significant proportion and a prize to a minority, special care is needed to avoid confusing the two: the promotion must, for example, state clearly that consumers “qualify” for the gift but have merely an opportunity to win the prize. If a promotion includes, in a list of prizes, a gift for which consumers have qualified, the promoter must distinguish clearly between the two.0

I will report this to the ASA. Please leave it with me and I will report back when I get a reply.
