    Hi all,

Two small trips to shops this week to pick up stuff we have run out of- total £6.30. Total now at 95.28 / 360 so feel on track to be under budget this month- fingers crossed! Would be great to be under budget as the non-grocery spends have be high this month. Just bought easyjet flights for summer 2017 this week so feeling the hit and bank balance looking the worse for it! Also making a start on Christmas shopping ti spread the cost.
    Have a great weekend
  • First shopping day of the month. $137. Veggies, milk, bread, snacks for DH and sale beef.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Busy week (code for disorganised!!) Spent £78.37 in Sainsb last weekend and £11 on chicken fillets from local butcher (£5 a kilo so they will last 2 weeks).

Need to search handbag cos I'm sure I have bought a few extras during the week, so will update sig later.

Feel virtuous, despite bad record-keeping as I have just made spiced cauli and potato soup from fridge bottom drawer! And planning to make pear and almond tart later.
    GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£300
  • Hi everyone - had a load of mini shops, which seems to be working for me and have added up the spends religiously. I am particularly pleased with the little amount spent on alcohol. I get quite competitive with myself and giving myself a budget, means I think twice. I won't be buying any for at least a week - maybe just a bottle of cider in Lidl on Tuesday after my college class @85p, but that is it. Have a lovely weekend everyone. Have updated sig.

First spend of the month - £13.73 at Mr W (paid for with money given to me by parents to treat myself, but I'm putting it in the budget nevertheless).
    House fund: ~£5000 / £10,000 :D_£1000 emergency fund #208 - £151.74/ 1000 _
  • If DD and you want to eat more fruit and veg, and you lose some weight, could you not both of you walk to Li*l once a week at the weekend (rucksacks ??) and get the rest delivered once a month :)
    Lx[/QUOTE]

I will give that some serious thought - DD works weekends so may be a challenge. But I can walk home from work that way instead of getting a lift and pick stuff up.

No further grocery spends from me and would like to make it through to my weekly shop on thurs but I think I will need milk.

Shopped in Mr M for a change today and also because OH wanted to take advantage of their booze reductions to stock for C'mas. Spent £49.11 so this together with the small shop I did in the week brings me to spends of £148.68 leaving me with £76.32 for the rest of the month. Not sure this will be enough but I do have a good stock of everything except veggies so maybe it will last ok if I keep out of the SM's. BTW I didn't pay for the booze.

Went to coop and market stall this morning for basics shop and fruit & veg.
Dh spotted some rtc razor blade cartridges that are compatible with senor excel but only 47p for 4 blades - he got 10 packs so a massive saving.

Have updated my sig. dd2 & her family are here for the day so veggie sausage & wedges for dinner and dog veggie mince & onion with new pots and yellow sticker veg for tea.
