Project Mortgage Neutral Begins

Unsurprisingly $c$ didn't come. My routine was harder to stick to today, I did start practising my flute at 9.30 as per my plan but I needed to have the sound on my phone as I was expecting a call from work so anytime something else came in it distracted to me so I felt I didn't get as much out of it. I decided just to do an hour today, at least I have done something and I need to remember to give myself some slack right now, it wouldn't have been productive to carry on.I walked to the supermarket instead as I didn't know what stock would be like and I would rather get milk before I actually need it. there was a lot of stock so either people have stopped panicking or the shelves had been restocked sonce first thing. I still can't get any flour but I am making do with packet mixes for now. Slightly against the rules but Mr AJM and I decided to meet en route and walk to the supermarket together and that is our plan for when we go shopping, covering the exercise bit too. Neither of us have any contact with anyone else and we haven't actually divorced so legally we are family.Since I came back I have finished a tea cosy and egg cosy that I have been making for Mr AJM and I am attempting to make the 2nd egg cost this evening but everytime I seem to get into a rhythm things go wrong so I am currently on a break after unpicking some of it. I also ate a whole bag of sweets that I bought, I think it is safer not to buy any.Unsure what I am going to do tomorrow, I might have a break from knitting and either start a sewing project I bought in the summer or sort out my spare room.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Glad you got to go out, got some off what you needed including company. There's a reason they call it solitary confinement. You have to find a way so you get your 'fix' of human company whether that is through screens, here or the odd meet up - preferably 'socially' distant.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yesterday was slightly easier from a work point of view, rather than work for an hour each time I did 20 minutes a time meaning I was able to focus my attention a little more. I didn't cover as much as Monday but it was more dedicated, I also had a few calls to make as one of my section is now having to self isolate due to her mum presenting symptoms.I tried to use the rest of yesterday to do things that I have been putting off. The ironing has been done, I have cleaned the house (apart from my smallest bedroom), put a pile of stuff in the car that has been sitting there for a while and pressure washing a couple of things. I finished the knitting project I had started last week too.Today I am going to deep clean my porch, there are some dark spores on the window surrounds which I noticed while cleaning, I can then keep an eye on it to see if it returns. I also have a pair of walking boots to clean. I am leaving the smallest bedroom until the weekend and will do it in small chunks while doing a jigsaw. I have a few meals to make this afternoon with some of the veg in the fridge, I am very new to making soups and am not very good cooking without a recipe so will do a little research to see what I can loosely follow as I won't have all the ingredients. We are expecting to be utilised in the next couple of weeks and may know more by the end of the week. I have a quite a few homemade meals in the freezer as I don't know what we may be doing and I want to be able to eat easily when I get home. this is also why I want to use up some of the food.I am turning my attention to OPs etc with the end of the month nearing. I have noticed on the MFW thread that many are not OPing now but saving it instead. I think I should still be ok to keep me OPing but it has got me thinking. Whatever I do my total mortgage will drop below £110k with the next standard payment.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I think maybe I should follow the flylady thread as I obviously need it...I'm not convinced the black marks on the window surrounds in my porch weren't just dirt and dust!!! I have now cleaned them thoroughly and will try and remember to clean propery in there a little more often. I would like to find a way to clean in the window jams easily and also inside the vents of the double glazing as they are quite dirty. Once they have dried off I will try the brush attachment on the vacuum for the vents and see how that goes.

You are working hard sorting your house out. On the old style board you can probably get lots of recipes. Lots on the internet. Pinch of nom can be a good site to try.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yesterday I took a deep breath and went into the spare room. I moved the suitcases elsewhere for the time being, moved all my sheet music onto the new unit I bought and made up in December and set about putting on the table leaf that goes with it so I can set up my sewing machine. The problem is I don't like it as it is huge and dwarfs the room. Looking at the diagrams and the fittings there is the ability to attach it to the wall so I think I will do this instead so I can have everything set up permanently but still use it as another spare room if my whole family visit. I am unsure what screws I need as the diagram is not that helpful so for now I will leave it where it is and work around it.
I did my version of working from home this morning and did quite an in depth clean of the hob and all its parts, there are strange sunken gas rings that I hadn't cleaned properly since I moved in so tackled that. They aren't as good as new, I think I would need a steam cleaner or professional to attempt that.
I am a little bored this afternoon, if I can get myself motivated I will spend some more time in the spare room, I am cold though and sitting under my blanket is more preferable.
I fear I am going to find this weekend very boring.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I thought you had started using your heating more? Why are you cold?
Could you sign up for an online course so you are less bored?

I am making the most of good weather here today, my bedding is in the washing machine ready to go out on the line after. I am hopeful the weather will stay nice enough tomorrow that I can do my towels and get those outside too. Other jobs for today, I want to sort everything in my spare room that isn't in or on a unit so when I tackle those tomorrow I have space and I am going to organise the shelves in my coffee table. Not too much as it is the weekend after all and I am trying to keep the difference now I am home so much.

Good plan to try and keep the weekend separate. I worked Monday and I'm working again on the 9th as we're on a rota system. At the moment I'm sitting on the settee with the dog draped across my legs trying to type one-handed! I have lots of plans to do stuff at home as well as wfh but I must admit I have been quite lazy this week. I need to try and be more motivated next week!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20
