I am glad I don't need to live like this for long. The plasterer had a couple of issues earlier on yesterday but still believes he is on target to finish the living room by the end of today. Glad I should have help to put my house back in order at the weekend.

I am going to try and organise some decorating quotes so I can organise getting that booked in. I had been messaging my family yesterday morning about the work I am getting done, by the time I got to work I had a message from my dad saying he would like to pay for it! Completely unexpected.

Long day today. Not as bad for the rest of the week but I am keeping clear of the house. It's not good after I have spent time bringing down stress levels but I feel it is better for my sanity

oh bless your dad. How kind of him.    The disarray is hard going, but, it will pass.

I am really impressed with the plastering work that has been done so far. He finished the living room yesterday and cleaned up to an immaculate standard. He starts on the back bedroom today.

I have had a physio appointment this morning, I have been seeing her to rehab an issue with my knee. The progress has been really slow which has been noticed by her. Depending how I have done in my next appointment in the new year I may be referred for an intensive rehab course. This has upset me a little but I will just need to wait and see how things go.

I have signed up for the MFW 2025 challenge. Initially I have gone with £1200 again but with a remortgage on the horizon I wonder what the end amount will be!

Pretty much feel organised for Christmas. I am meeting my parents for lunch today and giving them their gifts so there are only a couple of others to pass on to people. I have a list of things to do this week which I hope to finish by Wednesday night or Thursday lunchtime so I can wind down before going away on Friday.

On leave now, I finally turned my laptop off about 5pm last night.
I had a list of things I wanted to get done before I went to bed last night but I didn't achieve it all. Nevermind, I am at the airport ready for a short 3 day Christmas break. I will just have to put my tree up on Christmas Eve!

I got back from my break last night, later than I had realised it would be so there was no time to go food shopping. I woke early naturally this morning so went out first thing and was home by 8!

I don't have any Christmas decorations up yet, part of me can't be bothered but I enjoy the lights around the living room so might try and make the effort later today. I have a couple of things I would like to get done but none of it is essential.

A bit deep but here it goes: I think my focus for 2025 needs to be me finding my why, I am generally happy but don't necessarily seems to find happiness. There is a lot that I need to unpack with this and I am not sure how to go about it but the key is definitely going to be getting used to sitting on my own at times and finding what I like/love and don't. I think this is how I need to move forward as I am a little stuck.

The key to this, once Christmas Day is out of the way is to use the time before New Year to sort out my small bedroom. It truly is a "spare" room with no purpose other than to dry washing but shouldn't take too much effort to set it up as a reading/crafting space, the main plan is that it will be a tech free zone. Taking inspiration from you @Watty1 , I am going to put up a board and fill it with photos and use it for manifesting.

Christmas Day wins - realised this morning that I paid for all my Christmas presents and shopping out of spends for me rather than the Christmas pot I save up all year, lucky I know. I have transferred the money across to my holiday savings pot instead (just a spreadsheet exercise as the pots are in the same account) as I am building it back up. With 6 spending days left of the year, I am hoping to have some more money that I can split between the holiday account and my ISA.

I have spent the morning listening to a podcast while doing a few puzzles and planning to go for a walk after lunch. The weather isn't the best but I am not someone who can stay in all day and  so am looking forward to a stroll along the seafront.

Podcast was a bit of a revelation, how is it the right things seem to come along when you need to listen to them? There were some practical steps in it that I intend to use to help me find my why and the first is to try and not complain/see the negatives. Outwardly I am quite good at this although am human and slip sometimes but I have realised I have a lot of negativity internally when I am sitting thinking about things, generally relating to other people. Maybe sometimes it is the company I keep so I am taking note of when it happens but each time I find my mind wandering down that direction I am trying to coach myself. Is it helping? Is it something I can control? Does it really matter? I don't think any of it is going to be easy but I would like to be free!
