My premium bond win was £100! I have it set to pay me at the moment and seeing as I go on holiday in 9 days time I am going to see if I can find a nice dress or bikini and treat myself.

I am still away at the moment which means I am spending a bit more money than normal for food etc but I have a rough limit on what I want to spend over the rest of July. If I can stick to it I will have a nice chunk to put away.

    Enjoy the "win"
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Today is my last day before 2 weeks of leave, it is a very long day but I am looking forward to getting home tomorrow morning.

I don't have that much time at home but I have a few things that I need and want to do and am going to try and tick those off before Wednesday when I go holiday. I am lucky that my work routine in August will allow me a lot of time to tick some jobs off at home as well as have some time to do some things for me.

2 days until I go away. Apart from packing the thing I want to do is finish stripping the wallpaper in my back bedroom. My friend who I am going away with is staying and had said he will do that for me tomorrow. Strange as it means I can tackle another job but I find it hard to let someone else help me.

If the weather is kind to me I will also try to cut the grass and weed one bed or at least pull up the worst of them. I will make a list of things I can do if I feel like it.

Accept the help.   I too find it hard to accept help but have realised I can repay with a cooked meal or a nice bottle of wine and all is good.

After realising how close I am to mortgage neutral after my money shuffle at the beginning of the month, I am wondering if I could manage to hit it by the time I am due to remortgage next July. It would involve me saving/making around £760 a month, I current manage £950 but some of this is in stocks and shares and I may need to use some of my savings for decorating plans over the next year. It gives me something to aim for so I am going to have a go and it might make me think twice before going out for cups of tea and buying cakes!

It is exciting that this could be possible.

I was too tired to think about doing anything yesterday so the jobs list moves over to today. I am keeping a note here while I am on so I don't procrastinate by writing it somewhere else, it also makes me a bit more accountable.

Strip wallpaper - not me doing this...
Cut grass and if time pull weeds from one section of the garden
Fuel car and check tyre pressures
    Send availability for coaching
    Ring my parents
    Pack for holiday - tomorrow
Ironing - not essential but nice to do

It is a bit ambitious but if I don't sit here for too long it is absolutely possible.

This mortgage neutral goal could be amazing - one year away .. guess it depends how much you think you’d have to sacrifice but what a fabulous goal
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I hope with a meal plan and being sensible with my spending it is possible, it depends on the decorating costs. I am happy to already be this close though.

All jobs ticked off my list. Just need to sort the bins before I go to bed ready for a very early wake up call.

Day one of the holiday and after a very early start with little sleep we are exhausted so have had a siesta. Before lunch I was chatting with my friend about my mortgage neutral goal, he became mortgage free last year so he is a good sounding board. I think the amount is achievable, I have been thinking about the money I will need to save while forgetting about the fact the mortgage total will decrease. This is absolutely doable but I am still going to focus on the £9k of savings at that should give me a good buffer for the decorating.
