Should I just pay up on this one?

I received a PCN from Fistral beach as registered keeper.
The notice has images of the vehicle entering and leaving the site for a duration of 96 minutes apart.
On asking the driver what happened, she assured me that they paid for 2 hours but could not find the ticket.
I used the contact info on the back to ask whether they put in the incorrect registration plate and how much time was paid for.
I did this on the online system they had.
I never got an acknowledgment. So I did it again...and again, no acknowledgement or email.

Then went on holiday and on my return there was a letter rejecting my "appeal" saying that 60 minutes was purchased against 96 minutes parking.
And giving me a POPLA code etc. giving 28 days to appeal.

I was not the driver ..can I now give them the name of the driver?

Only an idiot would pay these nasty scammers.

You have a PoPLA code, use it. Read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES, and then the most recent successful appeals from PoPLA Decisions sticky thread.

Build your PoPLA appeal accordingly and post it here for the regulars to review.

Your appeal should include as a minimum, inadequate signage, not the landowner, no standing to bring charges in their own name, non POFA 2012 compliant NTK.

Also search here o Fistral Beach Smart Parking. You will find hundreds of threads about this scam.

Start reading. It will take a while to get your head round it but keep at it. It will all become clear eventually.

If you now hand Smart the name of the driver they will laugh at you and it would be the wrong step to take!

Please just proceed with a lengthy POPLA appeal from the 'keeper' which has seen off Smart Parking loads of times. They don't contest some POPLA appeals which are long and strong 'forum versions' and they give up very often.

All you need do is search this forum board for 'Smart POPLA' then show us your draft based on the recent ones.

I have received a parking fine from Smart Parking at Fistral Beach Newquay for £160

I turned into the parking area as i was lost, was only in there for 14 minutes so find out where i was then 2 months later received this fine.

Any help or advice would be recommended.
