UK citizen resident in US & buying annual car rental/club excess insurance

Hi
Currently resident in US and now do alot of short car rentals [e.g. Hertz and other majors] and also car club rentals [ZipCar] and want excess insurance to avoid the expensive cdw etc insurance offered by those companies.
Looking for a policy that would reduce this excess to under £100 but as resident outside UK then it seems to restrict my options. I found the following whose deluxe policy is £58 for a year and also includes car rental and club coverage in UK [and the missus included as well!].
www.worldwideinsure.com/car-hire-excess-insurance.php
www.worldwideinsure.com/policy-wordings/ER16-2.pdf
Any other options or things I forgot? Policy is operated and managed by Strategic Insurance Services and underwritten by AmTrust Europe - any probs when making claims from these companies?
How does it work incase I need to use this cover - do I have to pay at the time and claim back [deluxe coverage is up to £50k reimbursement!].
Not sure if this question should be in this forum or 'Flights, Currency & Car Hire'...
TIA
